The economic downturn wreaked havoc on the finances of many cities and states across the country. If one thing has remained constant in the meetings industry in the past year and a half, it’s been uncertainty as planners witnessed declining interest and participation. But a new survey paints a more optimistic picture: off-site meetings bookings are up 15 percent from a year ago and attendance looks to increase 23 percent through the end of the year.
