Phoenix case study offers blueprint for DMOs

The Destination & Travel Foundation partnered with the Greater Phoenix CVB to produce a case study illustrating the economic impact of visitors in a community in November 2009. The Foundation posted the study, “How the Visitor Industry Contributes to the Local Economy: An Analysis of Phoenix Hotels’ Property and Visitor-Related Taxes,” online for other destination marketing organizations (DMOs) to model. Through the Destination Excellence campaign and the case study, the foundation seeks to raise advocacy for DMOs.
