Delta cuts fares

A new fare strategy, exclusive to Delta’s Cincinnati hub, is expected to encourage travelers to fly out of Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport rather than driving to neighboring airports.

The Delta Air Lines pricecut in airfares for domestic flights ranges from five percent to 60 percent, and affects 80 percent of travelers flying into or out of Cincinnati. A one-way trip to Hartford, Connecticut, has a 12 percent reduction that brings the $180 ticket down to $159. The reductions will apply to advance-purchase business and leisure fares, along with walk-up fares, and include cities in Florida, the Northeast and along the West Coast.

Eligible travelers must buy a round-trip fare that requires a minimum stay of three nights or a Saturday night stay. J.D. Power rated Cincinnatione of the 10 Best Hub Airports in North America in 2008.
