Governor Hotel celebrates 100
The Governor Hotel in Portland, Oregon, is celebrating its centennial this year as the State of Oregon celebrates its 150th birthday. This Pacific Northwest Landmark will commemorate the culture, art, music, and fashion of the early 1900s in the turn-of-the century hotel.
Dating back to March 9, 2009, The Governor is one of the longest standing first-class hotels in Portland. Guest and the public are welcomed to enjoy free historical tours, a centennial hotel Open House hosted by period-dressed guides, and a special anniversary themed accommodation package.
When this six-story building first opened, reservations ran from $1.50 a night for sleeping room to $2.00 a night for a private bath and breakfast. Today, you can enjoy modern convenience in historical ambiance, but you will have to pay the inflation-adjusted price.
