Planner's Tip: Creative Breaks
Breaks provide interaction, relaxation, diversion and a power boost. Keep them simple but fun: baskets of popcorn or plates of cookies with hot chocolate; a platter of moon pies decorated with Mardi Gras beads; yogurt with fruit and granola; everything chocolate; local specialties.
Afternoon teas are growing in popularity; offer a selection of green teas and finger sandwiches or mini-desserts for a quick energizer between seminars or an alternative for small, think-tank afternoon sessions.
One planner brought in an old-fashioned ice cream cart and attendees got to pick out their favorite ice cream bars. A caterer at a recent conference served freshly made ice cream cookie sandwiches—making a huge impression on the group.
